Byrþi betri berrat maþr brautu at,an sé manvit mikit;vegnest verra vegra hann velli at,an sé ofdrykkja öls.

A better burden can no man bearon the way than his mother wit:and no worse provision can he carry with himthan too deep a draught of ale.
